12pm to 2pm Lunch and Hosted Wine Tasting Event
What is a Market Rate of Return in Impact Investing Event
Bamboo is producing a half day event followed by a dinner to engage the investor community in a discussion on defining the market rate of return for a private equity impact investment fund. The conversation will be hosted by Matthew Bishop, US Business Editor, Economist and author of Philanthrocapitalism.
Cambridge Associates and the IFC have both provided benchmarks for PE fund returns focused on developing markets. Development banks, foundations and family offices were among the early adopters in impact investing and have informed perspective on the status of fund returns. Bamboo Finance, together with these invited organizations, will produce an event that will provide a unique and much needed perspective on the state of private equity impact investing and take the lead on establishing a benchmark and moving the industry forward.
The event will be structured as a salon/ living room style conversation with topic leaders who will be tasked with keeping the conversation moving and alive through the guidance of experienced moderators from the impact and investing sectors. There will be no PowerPoint presentations and no panels.

Spreading the Word
Our goal is to create a buzz about the event as the premier event to attend for fund investors to learn from the leader in impact investing about what type of returns to expect; gain valuable insights into what type of progress is being made, what regions and sectors offer the best opportunities, and the challenges of scale, valuations and fundraising. We will produce a paper on findings from the event as well. We encourage you to spread the word.
